Year 2 Day 154-174

Well, so much for me staying on top of things.

Wednesday, April 24th. It was a normal Wednesday, at least from what I could remember. I had Physics, went to chapel, spent my time with Tori, went to Faith and Life, ate lunch, brought Mr. Ben his sandwich, oh wait! I think today was the day when Ben didn't have Brass Ensemble, so he ate lunch with us! Holla. Then went to Interp and Science. Hmmm. Now what did I do after that? Oh yes! Now I remember. I went to watch Audge play some volleyball, then went to Ben's meet in Lincoln with Kate and Bobby. Those two are pretty great :) Ben ran well, puked after, and felt better! He's totally going under 4 at conference, that will be sick! After that, I ate a quick dinner, then went to Meteorology, then went to Praise, then hung out with Ben afterwards.

Thursday, April 25th. Last day of lifting this morning. We did some fun stuff, a nice circuit again, which was great. I ate breakfast, then showered, went to Chapel, had a really short lab, then went to eat lunch with Ben. We got some Subway and ate at Plum Creek Park :) Twas a lovely lunch date. After that we picked up Kate and brought her to class, then went back to Ben's room for him to get his stuff to leave for Drake. After Ben left around 12:30, I headed to Janz Top to work on my partner lesson plan with Nicole. Then headed back to the room and took a short nap while watching NCIS. Taylor and I watched some HIMYM. Then we went to soccer practice. It was fun, but windy. Supper came next, then came coaching. 3rd grade girls are a blast. After that, I showered and hung out for the rest of the night. I LOVE TAYLOR JOHNSON

Friday, April 26th. Today, I had three classes, then came back to the room. Taylor and I headed to Lincoln after that. We first went to Sonic. Then we went to the bank to deposit my checks. Then we went to Gordmann's. Then we went to Target. Then we went to Raising Cane's. It was a wonderful bonding with my roomie :)

Okay, well here we go. The rest of the semester got away from me. To sum it up, I will give some overall big details. I got my first ever B in Meteorology & Oceanograph...and I'm still alive. And my GPA wasn't terrible! Woohooo! I finished my Interp class, complete with Exegetical and Devotion. We went out to eat as a large friend group to Red Robbin, all dressed up and lookin good. It's always fun to go out with everybody :) I got to meet Ben's family (except for his sister Emily, who was at prom) and it was absolutely wonderful. I also had to say bye and drive home after an amazing weekend with his family, and that was the hardest thing I have ever done. Before I left, he prayed and I just started sobbing. It was about the coolest moment ever, and I am going to miss him so much! So much! I went to see Great Gatsby with Ben and his sister Liesl. Ben's sister Kate graduated and then headed off to Europe for Choice tour. Ben and I made dinner with Kate and Bobby, and it was a really fun night. We played our last two soccer games with Whitie as our coach, then went to Applebee's as a last hurrah with the team. I am not technically an academic senior, which is a crazy thought the more I think about it. Dad came down and moved out all of my stuff, and also got to meet Ben, which was great. Hmmm...what else am I forgetting. I think that covers the major events.

Hopefully I can keep up on this now over the summer.

Last night, my soccer team won its first game of the season. Woohooo! My brother was up for the Hall of Fame on Monday night, which is sick! I'm so proud of him! :)

Year 2 Day 153

Tuesday, Tuesday.

Today began with lifting, and we did this kick butt circuit, and it was amazing.

Then came breakfast, shower, chapel, and homework time in Janzow top. I got some soccer organizing done, and also got my DI portfolio part done. That was nice.

I then went to lunch, and class where we worked on our partner lesson plans. I'm not a huge fan of this project. I kinda just want to do what I want without a partner. That would almost be easier than working with a partner. But oh well. It's only 40 points, and it should be fun.

After class, I went to work on homework in Ben's room and got all of my Walther posts finished for the rest of the year. Winning right there.

Then Hannah, Emmalynn and I went to People's City Mission for the last time :( I'm gonna miss those kiddos. That was quite the experience, that's for sure. I loved every chaotic minute of it.

We got back and I went to eat supper, then came back and showered and did some homework before going to Fidelity. We watched some great videos and talked about Jesus. Great chats, great chats.

After Fidelity, Audrey and I went to DQ to get Monty's ice cream cake for her birthday, and we then celebrated.

Ben helped me do all of the dishes we dirtied in our room, and that was nice. We really had been needed to do dishes.

After that came the Pong tournament of all Pong tournaments. In our room we had Montana, Taylor, Audrey, Ryan, Micah, Amanda, Mariah, Carli, David, Melissa, Charlie, Creighton, Shawn, Jacqui, Ben, and I. I think I got everyone. It was epic, and there were some really close games. The team of Ben and Shawn ended up winning. This is definitely something we will keep doing, it was so much fun.

After that, I went to Walmart with Tori, Shawn, and Ben to get the prize for winning, then chatted with Ben for about an hour before falling fast asleep :)

It's so hard to believe there are only 2 more weeks of everything! Ahhhhh! This year went by way too fast.

Year 2 Days 132-152

Well, hey there anyone who reads this. Sorry for my patheticness lately. This hasn't been at the top of my list of things to do, but I wish I had been able to keep up with it better.

I will start from where I left off and give a brief synopsis.

Tuesday, April 2nd, we had lifting, I got some work done in Janzow Top, I had one class, I went to People's City Mission, I worked on our group presentation for Differentiated Instruction, I chatted with Ben for a bit, and I worked IMs for the night.

Wednesday, April 3rd, I had class all day, got a nice break in the afternoon, went to my leadership meeting, had night class, and worked IMs for the rest of the night.

Thursday, April 4th, I had lifting in the morning, Physics lab went well, our Differentiated Instruction presentation was boss, I played soccer with a recruit named Rachel, had a lunch date with Taylor in Janzow, and took a really solid nap because we didn't have soccer, and hung out with Ben for awhile before working IM soccer until the crack of dawn, thanks to an overtime game.

Friday, April 5th, I had class all day, had nice chats with Tori in JTop, came back to my dorm, and watched HIMYM for a LONG time. Yeah, I don't want to admit how long I watched, but Netflix may or may not have asked me 3-4 times if I was still watching. After Ben's recital thing, he came over and we hung out, went to McDonald's with Audrey, and then came back and hung out with Tori and Audge for the rest of the night.

Saturday, April 6th, Taylor, Cody, Charlie, and I road tripped to Kearney for Ben and Montana's track meet! It was the best day ever :) We spent some time in the sun, I got a little burned, we went to Target and Sonic, and when we got back to Seward, we watched the Michigan game, played cards with everyone, played 500 outside with a gatorade bottle, and then Ben and I talked the night away.

Sunday, April 7th, Fidelity morning out :) We went to church in Lincoln at the Lincoln Berean. It was a great service, but there wasn't a confession or absolution, and it was a little modern for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the modern stuff, but on Sunday mornings, I prefer traditional Lutheran style. We then went to Barnes and Noble to browse for awhile, before going to eat lunch at Cheddar's. I took a nap when I came back, then went to the library to work on my lesson plan. IM soccer went on for awhile before it began to lightning and storm. The storm was wicked!! The whole gang went to McDonald's to chill, then Ben and I went lightning chasing. We got some sick pictures. And it was pouring rain outside, and I just love storms.

Monday, April 8th. Today was a normal Monday...with the exception that I didn't have Physics in the morning. Holla :) I got to sleep in!! I went to chapel and class for the rest of the day. I got my Physics homework done before the captain's meeting, then did a little bit of homework before going to dinner. We had soccer practice outside, and it was absolutely amazing!! I had so much fun, even though it was cold outside. I watched the Nat'l championship for a bit with Ben at Bobby's house, then went to the Phonathon auction, where we couldn't catch a break and win anything cool. I then went back to chat with Ben.

Tuesday, April 9th Today was a normal Tuesday, with lifting in the morning, getting some work done in Jtop, class, and homework time before PCM. It was a crazy Tuesday at People's City Mission. I got the best news ever, though, when they cancelled little kids soccer, because of the weather. That meant I didn't need to rush back and have a crazy night. I had Fidelity, and we watched the video by Louie Giglio called Fruitcake and Ice Cream. Here's the link, check it out! http://youtu.be/nFS1jQzqOVQ

Taylor, Montana, and I then went to hang out in Ben's room and watch The Dark Knight Rises. Such an epic movie! I loved it. I definitely want to start from the beginning and watch the whole Batman series. I would watch again, most definitely.

Wednesday, April 10th Today was a normal Wednesday, with craziness all around, classes to go to, and leadership meeting, etc. I don't remember much about this day, to be honest. Stupid slacking on my end here. I do remember talking to Olivia during Meteorology & Oceanography. That's all I remember. Oh yeah! I went to the end of Praise, then hit up the library to do my DI application assignment :) It turned out pretty good!

Thursday, April 11th. Today was also a normal Thursday. We started with lifting, I had Physics lab, Differentiated Instruction was good, Taylor and I watched some HIMYM, then we had practice inside and we had this epic tournament! My team was Flem, Lou, Elyse, and I. We had a blast. We ended up losing in the championship to Jordan's team, but all was well, and we had a lot of fun. I hung out with Ben tonight, and it was great!

Friday, April 12th. Typical Friday beginning with Physics and ending with Interp. Taylor and I had some nice chats, and we went out to eat for Flem, Katrina, and Emily's birthday. We went to the Blue Room, which is Tai food. It was interesting, but not my first choice for food. I liked Taylor's Pad Thai the best. When we got back to Seward, Lou, Renae, Madi, Chelsea, and Elyse were in our room watching Twilight, so we joined the party.

Saturday, April 13th. This morning began bright and early with coaching the little kids. I had 4th grade boys to begin with, and it was a blast! I love that age group. I then had 3rd grade girls with Taylor, and that was fun as well. After coaching, we headed back to campus, and warmed up/showered. We ate lunch, then went to Ben and Montana's track meet, which was here today! It was great to watch, and was sunny outside, which was nice :) I love the sun! After the meet, I got ready for my date night with Ben :)))))))))))))) We went to Olive Garden and Red Mango, and it was just great. I love spending time with him :) Then we went back to his room, and we talked and talked and talked and talked some more. Basically, I just love talking to him :) He's so great. We had some really awesome conversations. God, thank you for Benjamin David Sievert ♥

Sunday, April 14th. I went to church with Montana, Tori, and Ben. I spent the afternoon working on some homework and such. Went on a bike ride while Ben ran. Worked IMs for the remainder of the night. I am glad to be finished with soccer. It was getting postponed left and right, and I am glad the weather finally cooperated.

Monday, April 15th. Just a normal Monday, as per usual. Class, chapel, more class, getting some homework done, captain's meeting, supper, and soccer practice. Oh and then I went to see Ben quick before playing an IM softball game, which we got our butts kicked in. Oh well! I got to come back and shower and get to bed before 11. #winning

Tuesday, April 16th. Today was a crazy Tuesday. It began bright and early with my alarm going off at 6:30. Lifting came next, except it wasn't actually lifting because Coach called us all into the lockerroom and told us she wouldn't be coaching next year. She will be pursuing her master's in Sport's Psychology, and decided to do that in Washington, closer to home. That was a shocker, and I definitely cried. After that, I went to DI's 8:30 class, then went to chapel, then went on my field trip to an 8th grade science classroom in York. It was really cool to see a completely Differentiated classroom in action. I would love for my classroom to look like that someday. We got back and I ate lunch with Ben, then got my Devo done after that. Then I headed to Lincoln for People's City Mission and Homework Club, and it was a pretty good day there. I came back, sprinted to my room, changed my clothes, then got my exegetical grade back! I got a 99 :) Woohooo!!! I was so excited, but had to contain myself a bit. Then when I got to my car I went crazy and called Ben and my parents to tell them :) I then went to coach the little kids and got preschool girls. It was fun :) Then I went straight to Fidelity, and we had some great chats. Finally, I got back to my room and breathed a little bit. Wowza, what a day. I showered, then I'm not sure what I did, but it probably involved doing homework, hanging out, or something of that sort.

Wednesday, April 17th. Another busy Wednesday with classes upon classes, but it turned out pretty good. We had some great conversation in Faith and Life. Reek had this amazing quote, and he was just firing from all cylinders! I couldn't take notes fast enough. I got some lunch, and then got to see Ben after lunch! We have been dating for 2 months today, just so you 3 people who read this know :) I got an Oreo Frappe today, and it was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Yum, Yum! I probably say that about a lot of things, but it all is haha :) I worked on some homework and talked to my mom, then went to help Marcie with her lab techniques project. My blood pressure is definitely low :) I ate dinner, finished my Oceanography homework just in time, and had night class. We also got out a little early, so I got to go to Praise, which was nice. Ben and I then worked on some homework after Praise before goin to bed.

Thursday, April 18th. Thursday, Thursday. Lifting started the day, then came chapel, physics lab, lunch, and differentiated instruction. After that, Taylor and I watched some HIMYM before getting ready for practice. We had practice in the gym again due to the snow that appeared on the ground overnight. It was pretty fun. And then came breakfast for dinner! Best day of the year, for sure!! I then came back and took a shower, then read a little bit before Ben came over, and we did some homework and chatted. Then everyone came over and we all went through old pictures on our computers and talked and then started watching Mulan. I love that movie!! Time flies when you're having fun, that's for sure. Before I knew it, it was 1:20, and Ben and I were still out in the lounge talking. Gotta love the late nights ♥

Friday, April 19th. Class like normal today, and it was a pretty nice day out, so I was excited about the change in weather. I hope this stays (and by the time I am writing this, I know it isn't going to). After class, I hung out with Ben for about an hour, then went back to David to get ready for our froomie dinner. (Future roommates). Madi curled all of our hair, and then Madi, Chelsea, Taylor, and I went to Lincoln to eat at Grisanti's. It was so yummy! I had such a food baby! After we returned, Tori, Montana, and Renae came over, then we were soon joined by Ben and Cody. We hung out, and I definitely fell asleep after awhile.

Saturday, April 20th. This morning was really, really chilly at coaching, but it was great to work with the 4th graders again. I headed back and got a warm shower, then ate some breakfast with Audrey. Then Taylor got back, and we watched some HIMYM before getting lunch. We headed to Doane for Ben and Montana's track meet, and they both had a stellar day. Ben won the 1500, and kicked but in the 800 with a PR of 1:56. His last lap of the 1500 he ran a PR of 54 seconds in the 400. That's insane! He was so fast!! It was fun to watch. After the meet, we picked up some Pizza, then joined Audrey in the game room to eat dinner. The pizza definitely hit the spot. After, I tagged along with Ben since Andy and Drew had made ribs and corn muffins, and it was just fun to just sit and chat with all of them. I don't know many of them that well, but Ben loves Andy and Drew, and they both are pretty hilarious. After that, we returned to David. Rach and Claire came to campus to say hi to everyone, and it was great to see them!! For the rest of the night, a bunch of us were in our room watching Captain America, which actually means I fell asleep on the ground for a majority of it. Life's good that way ♥

Sunday, April 21st. I got to sit with Ben upstairs for church, since he was playing trumpet. Easter is a continued celebration here at St. John, and I love it. After church came lunch, then I got some organizing, laundry, and a little bit of cleaning done. That felt good. Then I went on a bike ride while Ben ran, and after that went to the block party with Ben, Andy, and Drew. Pastor Matthias was there, and he is just a hoot. I love how down to earth he is. It started to rain a bit, but not terrible. After the block party, we went to the ACap concert, and it was absolutely amazing :) They are always so good. It started to storm while we were in the concert, and well timed thunder made one song sound extra super amazing. The storm was awesome, and the lightning was really bright. After that, Ben and I went bacck to his room for a bit before going to our room to play water pong with everyone. For never having played before, I did pretty well! We played a tourney, and I barely lost to Ben. It was a tough one, but I handled the loss with dignity haha.

Monday, April 22nd. Today was just a normal Monday with classes and study time and more classes. I got to see Ben twice today! Once doing homework between classes, and another during lunch! Best day ever :) We had a captain's meeting, and it was productive. It will be interesting to see what is to come in the next 4-5 months. After that, I did some homework, then went to dinner. Coach sent us a text saying practice was cancelled due to the weather, so Taylor and I played the Hallelujah Chorus and ran around dancing. I then went to get a workout in, did some abs, then played basketball. I beat him 3 games in a row again :) Moving on, Taylor and I watched HIMYM to end the night. I love my frienders ♥

There ya go, ya'll! Now, I promise, I will keep up on this day by day now. Holy man, I got so behind.

Year 2 Days 124-131

Sorry about the slacking. Here's a brief update, and tonight I will start on the daily thing again.

Last Monday, we had soccer practice indoors, classes was typical, and it was just a normal Monday.

Tuesday was normal again, with early morning practice. Registration went by with breeze, and my Tuesdays and Thursdays are looking really nice next semester. I got to go to chapel with Ben, I went to People's City Mission, we got to leave early, and I studied the night away for my Meteorology test. On a positive note, Ben and I can do homework/study while in the same room. That's a plus haha :)

On Wednesday, it was my normal crazy day, but hey, I like busy. Class all day, went on a nice run outside since it was beautiful, had our Leadership meeting with Coach Mattera, took a Meteorology test, might have done decent, saw Ben in the music building and at Praise, hit the hay decently early.

Thursday was a wonderful day. First because it was beautiful outside. Second, we had practice and lifting early. I got done with class at 1, and that was great. That also meant I got to hang out with Ben a lot before leaving tomorrow :) We ran some errands so Walmart and the Library, then I went on a 5 mile bike ride while Ben was at practice. We made spaghetti for dinner, and it was yummy! Then we went to Maundy Thursday church at St. John, and it was a really great service. After that, Ben was on duty for the rest of the night, so we watched basketball, went on a walk, explored around campus, and just smiled :) Benjamin David Sievert is pretty amazing ♥

Friday, I woke up and said bye to Ben, then hit the road for home. I got back around 2:30, then unloaded and went to set up for the Easter breakfast at church. Then we went to Applebee's for supper, and we had lots of laughs :) I love my family. We went to church that night, and then after that I was down for the count trying to watch basketball, but definitely falling asleep.

Saturday, my mom, Leah, and I went to Maple Grove to go shopping. I got $7 jeans. Holla! I didn't find a dress though. Well, I did, but it was $50 and I didn't want to spend that much. So I think I will just go with the one I have, but we will keep looking and see.

Sunday was Easter :) He is risen, he is risen indeed. Alleluia :) My alarm went off at 4:45. Woohooo! Gotta love Easter breakfast! On the bright side, I am a professional pancake flipper now :) After church and the breakfast, we went to Granite City in Maple Grove for Easter lunch/buffet with my Aunt Pat, Uncle Greg, Tracey & Matt (and his parents), David and Ally (got engaged the night before ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (oh and Ally's mom, grandma, sister, and sister's boyfriend, Mark, and then my family :) It was a great time. Ally's ring was gorgeous, and David and her are just the cutest couple possible. I just love them :) I took a solid nap in the afternoon while watching the basketball games. Did my laundry, packed up my stuff, made a candy run, and then went to bed.

Monday, I headed back to Nebraska. I got back right before 2, and it was great to be back that early. I can't believe there is only 5 weeks until summer. Crazy. Anyways, I went and got some food since I was starving, and Ben came with me :) Then I made the soccer schedule for intramurals, then Ben had to do his 10 mile run, so I biked with him. That was great! I love my bike ♥ We ate dinner, then went to Walmart since he needed to get some things. We ended the night watching Sound of Music and hanging out :)

Psalm 34, another good one :)

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
    their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
    he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
    for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
    and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked;
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Year 2 Days 113-123

Sorry, I dropped off the face of the planet due to my exegetical.

To summarize my last 11 days, I spent the rest of break either with my family laughing, watching state basketball, or writing my paper. I was done with 15 pages by the time I got back to school.

I drove back to school on Sunday and got to see Ben that night :)

Throughout the last week, I spent 20 hours in the library, got about 7-8 hours of sleep at night, hung out with my friends a bit, didn't play any soccer or workout (I was going crazy) I did lift twice and run once, but that is not enough for me.

I finished my paper on Thursday, then spent the next two days watching lots of HIMYM or hanging out.

Ben was on duty Friday night, so we watched Wreck It Ralph. Cutest movie ever. I loved it.

Saturday night was the SAC dance, so that was a blast. I am definitely becoming a better dancer.

Sunday, I went to Ben's band concert, met his grandparents, and put the finishing touches on my paper before hitting submit at 7:33 p.m. What a wonderful, glorious moment.

Finished the night watching Les Mis and trying on Montana and Amanda's dresses to see if they had one that would work for me. Needless to say, I am still in the hunt. Some of them looked okay on me, but none of them great. We will probably go shopping here eventually :)

My exegetical Psalm:

The Lord is my light and my salvation
    whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
    of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me
    to devour[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
    who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
    he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
    and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted
    above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
    I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
    be merciful to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, “Seek his face!
    Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me,
    do not turn your servant away in anger;
    you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
    God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
    the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, Lord;
    lead me in a straight path
    because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
    for false witnesses rise up against me,
    spouting malicious accusations.
13 I remain confident of this:
    I will see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Enjoy :)

Life's good, and I am definitely so blessed beyond measure ♥

Year 2 Day 112

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEAH! :) Sweet Sixteen!!

This morning I got up around 8:30 to take a shower and get ready for the day.

I went up to eat lunch with my bro and sis, bringing them Subway. Man, I remember school lunches being pretty good, but what I was seeing didn't look all that great. I also didn't recognize as lot of the kids. I feel really old now. I've only been gone for 2 years!!

After that, I came back and watched some tv while working on homework.

Then I listened to the Monticello girls game, and they won in double overtime! It was awesome :) Probably the most exciting game I have ever listened to! So proud of Geyen's team. It was awesome.

We had chicken fettucine alfredo for dinner, Leah's choice. It was yummy! Then we had red velvet birthday cake! :)

I did some more Meteorology, then we opened Leah's presents. She got all 3 season of Downton Abbey. Holla!!

More homework to end the night. Today was a productive day for everything except for my exegetical. Oh well, gotta get the other stuff done sometime!

I got to see Ben's wonderful face on FaceTime tonight, and it was great :) I can't wait to see him Sunday! :)

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Romans 8:11

Year 2 Day 111

Tuesday, Tuesday.

Well, today I made an attempt at my exegetical. It went alright. I just need to buckle down and do it. Just do it! Stop over thinking it, Rachel. You can just do it. I have spent way too long working on this. Most people would be done by now with the amount of time I have spent on it.

After working on homework for awhile, I headed up to the high school to workout and see the track coaches. I got to say hi to Eggers and Sor as well, which was great :)

I did some repeat 200s with the hurdlers. That felt great :) I miss track! 200s are my favorite.

We ate supper when we came back, then I'm pretty sure I did homework and watched Mulan to end the night :)

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25

Year 2 Day 110

Monday, Monday. I slept til 9 today! Winning right there!

I then got up and went for a run. 25 degrees out wasn't even that bad! :) I came back and showered, ate a quick lunch, then headed to Dunn Bros to work on my exegetical.

I worked on my exegetical solid for 4 hours or so, then Emily and Kayla stopped by to say hi. It was great to see them :)

I went home and we ate dinner, then I headed to FCA with my bro and sis. DJ was speaking, so it was cool to hear him speak. I also got to see Rachel, which was great. Got to brag about Ben a bit (or a lot), so that's always fun :)

Caught the tail end of the Bachelor, and let me tell you, that rock is amazing! Really big. Way the heck to big for me. But it sparkled, that's for sure. And Sean cried, and it was just so cute! Awwww :)

I worked on my exegetical a bit more after that, but nothing too much. I lost my motivation after about 10 minutes because working in my bed just wasn't flowing. I need a table.

I watched a couple episodes of HIMYM. Marshall and Lilly are back together. Thank God, although I wasn't super worried about it, I knew it would happen.

I'm definitely the lucky one ♥

This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ. Philippians 1:9-10

Year 2 Day 109

Sunday began nice and early for 8:00 church. Just the way I like it :)

Church was really great. Pastor Meyer gave an awesome sermon about control and how if we truly want to control our lives, we must completely relinquish the control to God.

My church is doing the Max Lucado book 3:16, so I went to that Bible study with my parents.

After church, I had long chats with my momma :)

After that, I finished watching Fireproof, which I had started last night. Such a great movie.

We all had Subway for dinner. I love when we all eat Subway on Sunday nights together. It reminds me of when we were little. We did that a lot when we were all in elementary school.

After supper, my plan was to watch Once Upon A Time with Leah...but I was out cold on the couch while she watched the show. I'm definitely a great sister. She woke me up at one point because my phone had lit up and Ben had texted me. That's all I really remember. I slept a little while longer after that haha. I was a little tired.

I then went over to Cal's house to watch the movie Argo. It was pretty good, I love the historical aspect off it, but it wasn't the best historical movie I've ever seen. It was about the hostages taken in Iran back in the late 70s, early 80s, and how they pretended to be a film crew in order to escape the country.

It was great to see Cal :)

After that, I returned home and watched HIMYM for awhile, preparing myself for the Exegetical day tomorrow.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,  Philippians 1:3-5

Year 2 Day 108

Yeah, I was definitely right about that whole internal alarm clock thing. 8:30 sharp this morning. Oh well, my bed was amazing :)

I took a shower and bummed around the house avoiding my large stack of homework, until my momma came home from work and my sis and her went shopping. We are searching for dressed for Kyle and Steph's wedding this summer. I did find one I liked at Target, but I will keep looking and come back to that one if need be. I'm not even sure what I want exactly, so I'll just keep looking for awhile. We did go into Ritzy Replay, though, so I saw Beth. She asked if I had a man in my life, and my mom said I turned Cherry Red and that it was just so cute to see me blush. Bring on the questions, people. I now can answer that question how I want to answer it :) Shout out to Ben, you're pretty great!

We came back and I started my ref recert stuff. I just needed to get it done. Shout out to Olivia for sending me your answers. I missed the video stuff by 3 points :) You da best!

We had spaghetti for dinner, my favorite! We were talking about worrying at some point, and we then were talking about how different it looks for Mom to worry vs Dad to worry. So Leah gets her sassy pants on and pretends to use Mom's voice and says, "Aug, he's not home. He said he was going to be home at 1:05, and it's 1:06" Bahahaha. We were all laughing so hard. I definitely felt a tear run down my face because of how hard I was laughing. It was the gang up on Mom kind of dinner :)

After dinner, I have worked on more reffing stuff, further continuing my streak of putting off homework. I have to start doing it tomorrow. It can't be put off anymore.

Exegetical, prepare to meet your maker. Oh, and Meteorology Homework, Differentiated Instruction paper, and Science homework. Yeah. Wow, I really don't want to do homework. But I have to. I have to.

And now, I might just watch Netflix for the rest of the night. I'm really tired, and Daylight's savings time is tonight, so I'm thinking it's a solid choice, me and my bed tonight.

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Year 2 Day 107

I get to go home today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Physics this morning, chapel after that, making copies in the library, seeing Anna in Janzow Top!!! (She was visiting Whitie), then Faith and Life, ate lunch, came back loaded up my car, went to Interp, checked out of my room, then hit the road with Bekah :)

Bekah and I had a great time driving home. I enjoy her company :) We made really good time. I was home in about 7 hours 10 minutes, with a 15 minute food stop in there. Buckets right there.

When I got home, I sat and chatted with my mom and dad, then was getting tired, so I moved down to my room. My bro and sis got back from the 30 hour Famine around 12:30, so they came in and said hi. It's so great to see them :)

Now I shall sleep peacefully in my wonderful bed, not to be awoken before noon tomorrow. Okay. Let's be honest here. I will probably end up waking up before 9. Stupid internal alarm clock.

Home, sweet home ♥

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10

Year 2 Day 106

Thursday

I got to sleep in a bit this morning, which was nice. I didn't have 8:30 class, so that helped out a bit.

I went to eat breakfast, then went to chapel, Physics Lab (which was a blast! We got to work with electricity and current), ate a quick lunch, then went to Differentiated Instruction.

After class, I came back and changed my clothes to go lift and do bench max and pullups for testing. I only got 5 pullups, which is pathetic. I want to do more than that. Anywho, it doesn't matter really.

I biked to the library after that and started making copies of sources I will need for my exegetical. I'll be hitting that one hardcore over break. I wish I was done with mine like some people are. That would be amazing.

I came back to my room and was by myself for awhile, which was a nice change of pace. I just worked on Ben's project for Spring Break, and did some homework. It was relaxing.

I went to dinner, then returned to my spot and finished the project.

I then packed up all of my stuff for break, which didn't take me very long. I was efficient this time :)

The night ended with Ben coming over for a bit, then Cody, Taylor, Ben, and I watching Brave. Taylor fell asleep, I fell asleep for a little while, the boys stayed awake though.

Said bye to Ben for 10 days. It will go by fast though ♥

And at the end of this night, all I could do was smile :)))))))))))))))))

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58

Year 2 Day 105

Well today was just at typical busy busy Wednesday, but I will give you the quick lowdown.

Physics class, chapel, homework break, Faith and Life, practice with the recruit, Interp, Science, and a nap covered all of my time from 7:30-4:00.

Around 4, I headed to Ben's room to see the beer pong table he won through this app thing. Now, he won't be using it for beer pong, so don't you peeps reading this worry, but it was a pretty nice table. I would do homework on it, that's for sure! Or play water pong :)

After seeing that, I headed to our Leadership meeting, which was really good today. There was lots of laughing. We're all straight up exhausted haha.

After that, I went to eat dinner at Katelyn's house with Ben, and then Katelyn's boyfriend, Bobby. It was delicious, and I definitely felt honored to be able to eat with them :)

Night class came next. I am fully understanding everything, paying attention in class, and my homework was done beforehand. Winning right there. Because of all of this, I justified leaving class early for an Intramural basketball game.

We ended up losing by 2, but I lit it up with 4 3s, so it was fun :)

After that, I showered then hung out with Ben for a long time. Maybe like 2:30 a.m. Oh well, I will sleep when I'm dead :)

Blessed, blessed, blessed.

To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:20

Year 2 Day 104

Tuesday, Tuesday. I want a snow day like Buffalo!! That would have been sweet!

I woke up this morning, we did some fitness testing, mine went better than last time, it was solid. Praise The Lord!

After that came breakfast and my weight training final, which was really easy. I got hot chocolate from the coffee shop before going to chapel.

I showered and chatted with Lou for a bit before working on a project, then going to lunch.

I had Differentiated Instruction, and that class is always great. I love being a teacher :)

I cranked out a nice Faith and Life paper after that with a newfound sense of motivation. It turned out pretty well, which I was excited about.

People's City Mission came next, and it was really relaxing today with just four kids, and all of the working on math. I love teaching math :)

After that came dinner, then my meteorology homework learning about winds. I attempted to watch Pretty Little Liars, but fell asleep for a solid hour instead. Oh well!

I finished the homework, and Ben came over and we hung out for the rest of the night :)

Smiles upon smiles, I'm blessed :)

Year 2 Day 103

Monday, Monday.

This morning started off bright and early with Physics, as always. Our test got moved until after break. Praise The Lord! I wasn't super worried about it, in fact, I almost would rather take it this week, but too many people are are having to leave early for break.

Chapel came next, then came chats with Tori in Janzow top.

Faith and Life was really great today, and I think I already know what my 3rd essay is going to be about, which is really nice.

Lunch came next, followed by Interp, which was just exactly what a lot of needed to hear this Lenten season. We talked a lot about Law and Gospel, which is cool.

Science came next, and we found out our homework isn't due until after break. Another Praise The Lord!

After class came our captain's meeting, and then I went on a nice, fast two mile run. It was one of those things where I got so caught up in my music that I didn't realize how fast I was going haha. That's always good right? I love running :)

After, I had some nice chats with Tori :) She's a blessing, that's for sure.

Next came the return of Taylor's car :) She went to get it from the shop, and might have cried out of happiness.

Next came dinner. Then came homework time in my room while watching the Bachelor. I have not watched that show all season, so it was really funny to listen to all of the catty drama haha. Ben had come over to do homework too. It's good to know we can get homework done while spending time together :)

Next came our basketball game. We couldn't hit a shot, but we won by one so that's all that matters :) Tournament play starts Wednesday!!

Bedtime came next. 300s in the morning, wooohooo!

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3-4

Year 2 Day 102

I woke up to my alarm this morning around 7:30, then texted Ben to see where they were at. He said he was going to go to 11:00 church, so I decided I was going to wait and go with him.

I went over to his room around 10, and it was SO GREAT to see him :) I am so glad he is back :)

We went to church, and it was really good. I love St. John, it is a pretty awesome church. Plus, I had an exegetical revelation during church, so that's always nice.

We all ate lunch after church, then I headed back to my room to do some homework. Ben came over for a bit after the homework before we headed to his sister Katelyn's Mozart concert. It was really good music. Ben and I may or may not have played checkers on my iPad while listening, but that's allowed, right?

After the concert, we went and said hi to Montana, then went back to our room before I had to go to soccer. We had a recruit practice tonight, so it was a lot of playing, and that is always fun :) I got really sweaty really quickly, but that's fine by me. I like a good workout :)

After that, Ben and I went to Pizza Hut for dinner, then came back before our basketball game. We lost a heart breaker, but it's alright, that was our first loss. We are doing pretty well this season :)

We came back to our room to and relaxed for the rest of the night. Taylor had out in Law Abiding Citizens, and I had to close my eyes and plug my ears for certain parts, but it was actually a pret good movie. Minus the chainsaws and spork killing.

:))))))) I'm blessed.

Year 2 Day 101

Saturday, Saturday, yeah!

I woke up, oh around 8:30, eventually getting down from my bed to take a shower and attempt some homework.

We went to the St. John brunch around 11 and it was yummy!!

Afterwards, I bummed around the room trying to convince myself to go to the library, which I was able to do shortly before two.

I worked on my exegetical for a solid 3 hours before heading to HPAC for Alumni night. It was great to see and play with all of the alum, especially the ones from last year! I miss playing with them and the intensity they bring to the field. I wish Mia could have come, that would have been sweet!!

Afterwards, Lou, Taylor, and I headed back to our room, where we eventually watched a movie, but I ended up going to bed. Law Abiding Citizens was a little too gory for me. They did end up shutting it off eventually, but I was exhausted as it is, so my bed was where I needed to be.

Ben comes back in the morning :)))

Year 2 Day 100

Wow, 100 days into my 2nd year of blogging. Crazy!! Time flies when you're having fun :)

Today was just a normal Friday, as it began with Physics, I finished my homework in class, then came Chapel, then came my friend time with Tori, then came Faith and Life, then came lunch, then came Interp, then came the library. Fridays I just find so relaxing. I never seem to have anything due on Fridays, and I just enjoy them all together. But I guess, who doesn't love Fridays? :)

After my time spent in the library, I headed back to the dorm with Lou, and we watched the end of Nanny Diaries with Audrey and Taylor. We got to talking about Love Languages, so we all decided to take the test. But of course we had to guess what each other were first. I thought Taylor was Quality Time, but she thought she was Words of Affirmation. I was right, but only by a narrow margin.

I turned out to be Quality Time with Acts of Service being my 2nd. That doesn't surprise me, I figured that was me. I just enjoy being with those I love, and it doesn't matter what we are doing as long as they are near me. And Acts of Service is really how I give love, that was a no brainer for me.

We went to dinner, then hurried back to watch the girls 4x800 get 4th and All American status, then watch the boys do the same thing :) Ben killed it with a 1:54! Wooohoo.

We chilled in the room for awhile before going to the play, Arsenic and Old Lace. Let me tell you, that play was stinkin hilarious. Steph and Allie just made me laugh so much with their main character roles. I would definitely go see it again, that's how much I laughed!

After the play, I came back to my room, talked on the phone with my bro, then talked on the phone with Ben for awhile, before falling asleep in front of the tv. I was wiped. One week til break :)

Year 2 Day 99

I got to sleep in today, Holla!

I didn't have lifting this morning for soccer because Coach cancelled it, and Harms cancelled Weight Training as well because she had to be at the State Tourneys recruiting. That's a good morning right there.

I woke up and got ready, then went to eat and go to chapel. It was nice getting to sleep in, I really needed that.

Physics Lab was good today. It was just a computer simulation, and we had to work with electrodes and charges, and through that we got to play this air hockey game. If we beat Level 3, we got extra credit. And I beat level 3. Yep, I definitely felt my sense of accomplishment for the day right there :)

After lab, I went to lunch and had a solid conversation with Annalisa and Becca. I love those two :)

After lunch came Differentiated Instruction. You know it's a good class when the first time you look at your watch it is 3 minutes before class gets done. That's a sure sign of a good class.

And after class, I went to meet with my new found best friend...the library. And proceeded to work on my Exegetical for the next 4 hours. Taylor brought me a Carmel Frappe, and it had two shots of Espresso in it. Holy man alive. My brain was shaking. Never doing that again.

I got some solid work done, but I really just need to get over this Plateau of writing. That's my goal for this weekend. I've done so much research, now I just need to write. I absolutely love my Psalm though, so that is really nice.

We (Montana, Cody, and Taylor) watched the girls 4x800 and guys 4x800 (featuring Ben as the lead off) run at the National Track meet. We got the webcast going in the library and were doing our best to silently cheer. They killed it! The girls won their heat, and the guys got 4th, so they both qualified for finals and are All Americans :)

We all went to eat dinner, I worked Phonathon after dinner, then we had an IM basketball game to cap things off. We won by 20, which was solid.

I FaceTimed with Ben for a short while before he had to go to bed, and Taylor and I watched Pretty Little Liars to end the night.

Year 2 Day 98

Wednesday, long days, oh Wednesday.

I woke up this morning and got ready for class. My backpack probably weighs about as much as I typically squat in the weight room. Yeah, I'm carrying my whole room around with me today, because I knew I wouldn't be back to my room until after 10.

Physics started off the day, as per usual. I got some of that homework done during class, so that was nice.

Chapel came next, and Holtorf was giving the message. He is always really honest and funny in his messages, so they are always something to look forward to.

After chapel, I sat in Janzow top working on my circles of context for my exegetical, and just basically trying to gather motivation in my brain to kick it into high gear over the next three days with this paper. I think it will be a productive three days for me, but we will see.

After the homework session came Faith and Life. Between this class and my lunch hour of reading my Psalm and trying to gather meaning from it, I think everything just all of a sudden clicked. So here we go, if you wish to hear the inner workings of my brain at this point, it's all about to come at you like word vomit.

In Faith and Life, we were discussing the Gospel of Mark. Through this, we were talking about Jesus and the people he surrounded himself with. These weren't people had it all together, who had their whole life figured out, who followed every law to the letter (a.k.a. the Pharisees, or at least they thought of themselves in this way). He came for the people who needed him, who had sunk and hit rock bottom, who just didn't know what their life had come to and needed to be redirected. We looked at his apostles, we looked at other people he surrounded himself with, etc. We also talked about the fact that Jesus healed two blind men in the Gospel of Mark. In one of these healings, the blind man stood up in Jesus' presence and threw his cloak and jumped to his feet. Now, at first this may seem to be a minor detail, but it is absolutely one of the most major details of the whole story. This man was blind, and he threw his cloak to the ground. He had the utmost confidence in the fact that he was about to be healed, that he knew he would be able to find his cloak again. What an incredible story of faith.

Later in class, we somehow led into the thought of reputation, and that led to something about what it would be like to be in jail, and that led to loneliness. Reek then went on to talk about how God is always here with us. In every moment, at all times. And yes, we all knew that, but have you ever really, truly thought about that? Yeah, it's definitely mind blowing. We talked about how God the Father's presence is noted in all areas of the Bible, and it's always in the form of the cloud, and loud booming voice coming from the cloud. It was a cloud that lead the Israelites wandering through the desert, it was a cloud that appeared at the Transfiguration, etc. This brings a whole new meaning and importance to clouds for me. I knew this before, but now it's just so much more meaningful.

Then, Reek talked about when his Dad died, and how when he went into say bye to his dad, just him and the casket with his father, he could just feel the presence of God. Then he talked about how his mom emailed his sister the other day, saying that she woke up in the middle of the night and looked over to see her husband wasn't there, panicked for a little while, then remembered he was gone. He talked about how his parents were married for 65 years and he could only count on one hand the number of nights they spent apart. I'm not sure where he was going with this story but tears were definitely silently rolling down my face at this point. This is a moment where a lot of things clicked in my mind.

And here's why. Generally, I would say that I am a pretty sympathetic person. I like to be able to console, understand what people are going through, etc. But I have been very apathetic to situations in the past regarding people's relationships with others, and how much they miss someone. Especially when it comes to my brother. Now, my mom warned me that one day I would understand how he was feeling in those moments, but I told her there was no way I would ever be like that. I was too independent, I was too this, I was too that. Then today, sitting in Reek's class, listening to him talk about the presence of God, of a blind man's unquestioning faith, of his parent's being married for 65 years and spending less than 5 nights apart from one another their whole marriage, and I was just overwhelmed with this feeling of understanding. So here's to you, bro. I have finally reached the point where I understand all of what you have been trying to explain to me.

Now, over lunch, I was working on my exegetical, just trying to put myself in David's shoes, and that just clicked too! At first, I thought this Psalm 27 was supposed to be words directly impacting my life, God instructing me about a situation in my life, etc. Yes, you could say that still applies, but it's not as important as my latest realization. Working with this Psalm has helped me to be able to understand what others are going through, how I can help them out. Afterall, when I think about my life, God has thrown a lot of things at me that I originally thought were supposed to be for me, but then turn out to be of greater impact for helping and supporting others. So thanks, God. I am so blessed to have this role in people's lives. Continue to give me things that will help me help others. After all, if we aren't shining the light of Christ, what are we doing with our lives?

Interp class was great. We talked about shifts in our Psalms and where we see those occurring in the the Psalm. So here's the short explanation of mine. In the beginning of my Psalm, David is asking questions. Whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid? Then David goes on to talk about all of the circumstances in which God will be there for David, in which he will support him. David then switches to asking/making requests of God, "Hear my voice" "Do not hide your face" "Do not forsake me or reject me" Then comes the switch. David has asked his questions, he has given the situations in which God will help him, he had then asked again, it's almost as if he is trying to reassure himself. Then bam. Verse 13-14, David says, "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong, take heard and wait for the Lord." All of the questions in David's mind disappear. And he is filled with confidence and patience for the timing and power of the Lord. Pretty amazing stuff.

Science of Everyday things was great, but let's be real here, I was still on a God high from the middle two classes of my day.

 I went to the library after class and worked on homework and papers with Taylor, which eventually lead to a heart to heart with her. I love Taylor ♥ I am thankful to her for her patience, understanding, and just being a wonderful roommate and friend.

Our leadership meeting was good today. We talked about what it looks like on the field when we are all frustrated, and nobody could come up with one for me. So then, Whitie said it was her goal after break to figure out what it looks like for me to be frustrated. You know what I say to that? Challenge accepted. Don't get me wrong, I know I get frustrated. But it is very internal. So this shall be interesting haha.

Corn dogs and mac and cheese for dinner, yum!

Meteorology was good tonight, and we got out early! And I understood everything we were talking about! And it was just fantastic.

Praise was amazing too! Louisa spoke, and let me tell you. She did wonderful. Man, she rocked it. I love my roomie :)

We got the late night munchies back in our room, and Audrey painted my nails because I haven't bitten them in a week! Winning right there :) Audrey, man. You don't find a classier, more awesome, hilarious person than Audrey.

My life is filled with some pretty incredible blessings. No, my life is a blessing.

Ben, you're great! Can't wait til Sunday :)

You, yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, recognized and read by everyone. 2 Corinthian 3:2
